Constipated?

Constipation is something that we all have experienced at some point in our lives.  Causes can be anything like poor diet, digestion and elimination.  Toxins tend to build up in tissues and block the channels of elimination.  Your lifestyle, what you do on a daily basis that is not in accordance to the laws of nature as well as the food you put in your body plays a major role as well.

The root causes of constipation are -

  • poor nutrition
  • poor digestion
  • toxins accumulating in tissues
  • blocked channels
  • accumulated mental stress
  • accumulated physical stress
  • disruption of the natural body rhythms

There's a lot you can do naturally to be relieved from constipation and here's one of them -

Mix 2 teaspoons of ghee (clarified butter) in a glass of warm milk and drink thirty minutes before bedtime.  It will definitely help with constipation and acidity!

The 6 Free Doctors.

Greetings.

I received another very cool and interesting email today and I want to share it with you all.

Have you heard of the 6 Free Doctors?

1 - Sunlight - The sun says, spend a little time with me while reading, exercising, listening to music, meditating, even chatting up with friends.  Do it with me.  Just you and me 'cause I am your best friend.  Physically and metaphorically sunlight is beneficial to all.  Giving light, it's best to everyone regardless of caste or creed.

2 - Water - 6-8 glasses of water in a day replenishes all the liquids of the body.  And water is oxygen to every cell in the body.  Our body thrives on fresh water.  It is the greatest detoxifying agent ever produced.

3 - Air - Your prana shakti - Life breath.  Just being aware of your breathing for a little while invigorates every cell in the body.  Pranayama (deep breathing) is a must.  To exhale all carbon and take in all oxygen, in a clean and open environment.  It is a luxury today to breathe fresh air.  Do not neglect this.  Holding a breath and then releasing it clears all the diseases in the body.

4 - Diet - After consuming three of the five nature's elements (ether, water, air, earth, fire), get to the natures produce - vegetables and fruits.  The Lord has provided plenty of choice.  No need to be a vegan, but the amount of cleansing the vegetables and fruits does to the system is amazing.  The enzymes produced protect every cell in the body.  Proteins are present in lentils and yogurt too.  Too much meat takes away 70% of the energy to digest it.  So be moderate.  We are basically herbivores and not carnivores by nature.

5 - Exercise - How can anything be consumed without the corresponding arrangement to digest the same?  The body must move.  Walking can be a good form of exercise.  But stretching the body is very essential.  Starting from bed, when waking up and then being physically vibrant throughout the day.  Household work is not an exercise, it's a chore!  Exercise in a proper state of mind and not under stress or duress.  Relaxation is the reason for exercising a healthy state of mind.  Exercise alone and not rushing.

6 - Rest - Last but not least, the 6th doctor is rest.  None of the above is possible without enough sleep, relaxation and rest from meetings a deadline.  Rest is the most important factor which gives impetus to all other five.  So do not neglect it.  Resting with beautiful, positive and creative thoughts is of course always recommended.  If you have negative thoughts, keep slogging, so you do not have the same time to nurture them.  When resting, have all the positive thoughts, nourishing thoughts, the foremost being Thanksgiving to the Lord, followed by love and compassion towards all the relationships you encounter - choicelessness in love.

In The Moment. In The Air.

LaGuardia Airport.
American Airlines
Flight # 327.
American Airlines
Flight # 5276.
I’m on my way to Fairfield, Iowa.
The land of the Veda (knowledge).
The place where it all started.
The knowledge,
The people,
The smiles,
The love,
The air.
It’s like magic.
I’m going to be visiting Fairfield, Maharishi University of Management and above all, my dear friends.
Friends that I’ve always kept in touch with since graduation.
Friends that I haven’t seen in 10 years.
It’s a 10 year reunion.
I’m very happy.
Excited,
Anxious,
Nervous,
So shy,
Scared,
And proud of myself for leaving New York and coming here.
I meditated on the plane.
It was such an effortless meditation.
Gosh.
Sounds.
So many.
Such different sounds.
Seat belts buckling.
Babies crying.
Children laughing.
Cell phone talking.
Food eating.
Soda cans popping.
Plane engine riveting.
Turbulence.
Loud, roar like, thundering in your ear.
Bright white and blue sky.
First class view of the world below me.
Meditative.
Tranquil.
Happy.
And Soft.
So effortless, natural and peaceful.
I’m grateful.

Here are a few tips to know when flying -

1 - The dry air in the plane can dehydrate your body tissues causing fatigue, constipation and skin irritation.  Definitely drink plenty of warm/hot water before, during and after.

2 - Best to avoid any alcohol or carbonated beverages as they are diuretic in nature and can increase dehydration in the body.

3 - Eat light on the plane.  Our bodies change during altitude and movement in the air which makes digestion and food intake a little difficult.  Try to eat 1-2 hours before take off.

4 - Try to get up and move around every hour.  This will help with stretching of the body and opening up all the channels.

5 - Before heading to the airport, try to give yourself a light oil massage.  This will help with opening all the channels of circulation and keeping the skin smooth and not irritated.

5 - Rest and meditate.
